Peer Wellbeing Ambassadors
Our Mission
Encouraging students to commit to their health and wellness through peer education.
What We Do
All Peer Wellness Ambassadors share a set of core responsibilities during the academic year, including:
- Tabling on campus to raise awareness and share resources/services
- Facilitating educational workshops, discussions, and presentations
- Assist with service delivery, for example: 1:1 peer navigation sessions and the Pleasure Pack Delivery Service
- Assist with staffing our front reception desk
- Understanding and sharing information with the campus community about our Violence and Harm Support programming

In addition to these core responsibilities, PWAs have the opportunity to select an engagement track where they will receive specialized training and focus on topics that are important to them. These tracks include:
Peer Wellbeing Ambassadors in the Health Education track support fellow students through education about health and wellness topics, and in accessing and navigating campus resources related to health, wellness, mental health, and academics.
Through training in group facilitation and public speaking techniques, as well as 1-on-1 foundational skills in confidentiality, health literacy, interpersonal communication, and motivational interviewing, these ambassadors are equipped to offer important health and behavior change information to their peers and connect them to the appropriate services.
Peer Wellbeing Ambassadors in the health communication track develop skills in health messaging, design, outreach, and health education. They also assist our Strategic Communications team in researching trends, conducting interviews with students, and connecting with various offices around campus to expand our messaging.
