WELLNESS COACHING APPOINTMENT REQUEST

WELLNESS COACHING SERVICES

We offer Wellness Coaching services to current undergraduate and graduate students.

What is Wellness Coaching?

Wellness Coaching is a one-on-one collaborative conversation where a coach will aid you in achieving your health and wellness goals. This growth-promoting relationship elicits motivation, increases the capacity to change, and facilitates a change process through visioning, goal setting, and accountability. The job of the coach is not to "treat" you, but to be your ally and your resource. Your wellness coach may refer you to medical, psychological, nutritional, and other health-related services if appropriate.

Wellness coaching supports people in finding balance in life by building a plan to reach their wellness goals. Our wellness coach will help you take small, attainable steps towards your goal – whether that be creating healthy eating habits, managing your time, or coping with stress. They will support you in meeting these goals through accountability, thought-provoking questions, and continuous encouragement!

What to expect from your first session:

Every session is tailored to the individual and the goals they identify. Most sessions, however, will follow a basic format:

  • Your Wellness Coach will facilitate a conversation where the individual will discuss their goals, any relevant obstacles, and possible options for ways to accomplish the desired goal. Note: This is a conversation and not a prescription. Both the coach and the individual will be involved in the process.
  • Finally, you and your coach will determine a way forward. After exploring options for accomplishing a goal, a specific and measurable goal will be decided on and the need for future sessions will be assessed.
