Spiritual Wellness

This free certification offers a four-session journey into spiritual wellness, blending mindfulness, stress management, values exploration, and nature connection. The curriculum is grounded in holistic education and best practices, with a signature nature walk in partnership with the Campus Recreation department.

Students who complete the program may return as Spiritual Wellness Mentors in future semesters.

Overview/Objective

  1. Participants will develop an understanding of personal spiritual wellness principles
  2. Participants will develop a self-assessment of their spiritual wellness before attending
  3. Through activities, reflection, and homework, students will develop stress-management techniques, skills for increasing spiritual wellness as a marker of greater overall health, including physical, mental, and emotional health
  4. Students will take a post-program survey, reflecting on ways they have deepened their awareness of spiritual wellness and the ways they have developed and progressed toward wellness goals 

 

Presentation Length

Each session is approximately 60 minutes, for a total of 480 minutes or four hours.

Requirements

  • Attend all 4 sessions 
  • Complete weekly journaling assignments 
  • Participate in community service project 
  • Distribute stress relief bags as homework 
  • Complete final reflection and goal-setting 
  • Demonstrate understanding of core spiritual wellness principles 
  • Take pre- and post-assessment
