Highlighting CSW's Class of 2020

The Center for Campus Wellness provides a number of student involvement opportunities. Whether that's through our practicum program with the College of Social Work, our ACES Peer Health Scholars program, various internships, or the Student Health Advisory Committee, there are many ways to get involved with our office. BSW Practicum Victim-Survivor Advocate: Char Leary

Char will be starting her Master's program in Social Work in two short weeks!

Char, you are a brilliant, dedicated student and your hard work paid off! Thank you for all of the amazing support you provided to your clients and for the ideas you brought to our team. Good luck in your Masters of Social Work program! - Ellie, Assistant Director of Advocacy

 

ACES Peer Health Educator: Amuia Alford

Amuia plans to work in a hospital or clinical setting. He hopes to one day run hospitals in the Air Force, and spend time giving back to his communities alongside his supportive wife.

 

ACES Peer Health Educator: Marissa Castillo

Marissa will spend the next year studying for the MCAT, working in various research labs, and volunteering.

 

ACES Peer Health Educator: Maya Correa

Maya will spend the summer interning for a nonprofit that focuses on health inequities. Next year, Maya will take the GRE and apply for grad school so she can earn her Master of Public Health with an emphasis in epidemiology.

 

ACES Peer Health Educator: Colton Eusterman

Colton will be spending the next year growing and staying out of the comfort zone. Keep your eyes pealed, he plans to be back at the U shortly - but this time, as a staff member!

 

ACES Peer Health Educator: Marina Knysheva

Marina will spend the next year working as a Life Coach and Mentor at a transition home for young women. Outside of work, she will be applying;to medical school, volunteering and likely keep baking up a storm!

 

ACES Peer Health Educator: Nene Matura

Nene hopes to find a nursing job at a hospital where she can improve health outcomes in populations that experience health disparities. In her free time, she will be backpacking, traveling, and meeting as many people as possible.

It has been a privilege watching you grow into thoughtful student leaders, adept workshop facilitators, and empathetic teammates over the last year. Thank you for sharing your energy, creativity, and personalities with us. You brought us so much laughter, taught us lessons we didn't know we needed, and gave our jobs so much more meaning than we could have imagined possible at the start of the year. You've shown us and your campus community that through Advocacy, Community, Education, and Self-care, students can find support, purpose, and friendship to last a lifetime.

Thanks for your commitment to ACES and the CSW. We hope you have a great summer and beyond.
